- Execute the business development activities in India and Middle East. Develop relationship with manufacturers and attract them to FM Approvals
- Identify and actively participate in industry seminars and conferences, —representing and presenting on behalf of FM Approvals to raise awareness of our product testing standards.
- Be familiar with regulatory requirements that impact the products which FM Approvals tests and certifies. Including but not limited to products that fall under the local mark as well as products that are still under a voluntary certification scheme
- Assist FM and FM Approvals in identifying opportunities to participate in standard development activities in India
- Strong networking and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and maintain long-term relationships with manufacturers, end users, and regulatory stakeholders to drive the adoption of certification services.
- Conduct assigned tasks to ensure that the results will provide accurate and reliable data and technically sound and factual conclusions.
- Expand on technical knowledge providing support to Technical and Quality groups, delivering services to FM Approvals’ customers.
- Develop competence in a progressively increasing number of engineering or scientific techniques and applications to meet FM Approvals objectives.
- Participate in scope, budget, contract preparation, testing, data documentation and other routine tasks associated with third party product or service certification and research projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5 years related experience;
- Technical sales or business development experience highly desired;
- Travel and work experience in Middle East is a plus
- Certification experience or exposure particularly within fire protection related products a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with industry stakeholders and decision-makers
- Good presentation skills; comfortable delivering presentations at seminars, conferences, and client meetings
- Proven capability to build and maintain long-term partnerships with manufacturers, testing labs, and regulatory authorities
- Disciplined in lead management and follow-up processes
- Familiarity with project management skills including technical, financial, and personnel management;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office for business and technical communication
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
