Location

This position is based at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Norwood, MA, supporting Banquet Services. The property is owned by Hobbs Brook Real Estate LLC, the real estate division of FM, offering a dynamic hospitality environment with strong organizational support.

Shift Hours

• Full time Salaried position with a minimum of 40 hours a week
• We require open availability to align for business needs. This includes availability for day, nights and weekends.

Holidays
• This is a 24/7 operation, so holiday coverage is required
• Christmas Day is the only exception unless an event is scheduled.
• Flexibility is offered to take alternate days off when holidays are worked


As an Assistant Banquet Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional event experiences. Working closely with the Banquet Manager, you’ll help oversee all banquet operations, ensuring flawless execution of corporate and social events that meet the highest standards.

You’ll manage and mentor a dynamic team—including supervisors and break staff—while driving performance, compliance, and service excellence. In this role, you’ll have the authority to make critical decisions when the Banquet Manager is away, giving you the opportunity to showcase your leadership and operational expertise.

This is a hands-on position where you’ll influence guest satisfaction, team development, and event success in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities involve:

  • Support the Banquet Manager in overseeing all banquet operations and ensuring exceptional event execution.
  • Supervise banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and break attendants; manage scheduling, training, payroll and performance evaluations.
  • Act as decision-maker in the Banquet Manager’s absence.
  • Ensure event setups align with Event Orders and coordinate with sales and culinary teams for seamless service.
  • Oversee social and corporate events across 40,000+ sq. ft. of event space.
  • Manage financial responsibilities for $4M+ in food sales and $500K in beverage sales.
  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage leadership to plan and execute large-scale events (e.g., Easter and Mother’s Day brunches serving 1,000+ guests).
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Assist with budgeting, menu feedback, inventory control, and marketing initiatives.
  • Serve as primary contact for social gatherings and ensure guest satisfaction by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Prepare staffing and sales reports; maintain accurate financial records.
  • Recommend operational improvements and equipment upgrades to enhance service quality.
  • Perform “Manager on Duty” shifts and host events from start to finish.

2+ years of Banquet Management experience strongly preferred.

Experience working in a hotel and free-standing experience 

  • Computer proficient with tools such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Proven ability to learn new systems as needed for payroll and scheduling needs. 
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Effective communication abilities to engage effectively with supervisors and customers both written and verbal.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Experience creating weekly schedules for the team.
  • Managerial experience to resolve guest/employee issues.
  • Strong organizational abilities and effective time management, capable of task prioritization in a fast-paced setting.
  • Understanding of cost controls and cash handling.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds as part of regular job duties.
  • Strong attention to detail 

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Tips and SERV Safe Certified preferred

The hiring range for this position is $65,440 - $81,800. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
